Manitoba issues 242 invitations to candidates to apply for provincial nomination

Updated: Feb 22, 2020

Manitoba has issued another round of invitations on February 13th to 242 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residence. Express Entry candidates, skilled workers in Manitoba and overseas, and international student graduates who filed an Expression of Interest with the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) were invited in this latest draw.

The Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) went to candidates in the following three provincial streams:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba: 182

  • Skilled Workers Overseas: 27

  • International Education Stream: 33

Out of the 242 LAAs issued, a total of 15 went to Express Entry candidates who have a valid express entry id and job seeker validation code.

The Skilled Worker Overseas Category allows the MPNP to select and nominate skilled foreign workers who can help support Manitoba’s labour market. Candidates must have an established connection to Manitoba such as close family or friends, previous education or work experience in the province, or an invitation through one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives, among other requirements.

Skilled Workers in Manitoba Category selects candidates who are working in Manitoba and have a full-time, permanent job offer from their employer, among other criteria.

International Education Stream gives an opportunity to Manitoba graduates with in-demand skills to be invited to apply for a provincial nomination.
